Multi-contact Locomotion and Perception on the Humanoid Robot HRP-2

In this talk, we will discuss the various progress in our lab toward effective locomotion on non-flat terrain using advanced locomotion planning and control: multi-contact planning, nonlinear model predictive control and inverse dynamics control. Some examples using maps based on 3D reconstruction will be presented. The challenges involved in considering vision for whole body control will be highlighted.
